Keep the manuscript and research in one place

Reach the Scrivener project open on your Mac with its binder, notes, research, and compile settings. Read a chapter, review an outline, or check a desktop export without moving the project into another writing environment.

  • Read chapters and research side by side
  • Review the binder and outline
  • Check desktop compile settings

Use Scrivener on iPad

Use an iPad to see the manuscript and research together. A keyboard can make small writing changes more comfortable while the project stays on the Mac.

Can I use Scrivener on my iPhone or iPad with Apperture?

Yes — by streaming Scrivener from your Mac with Apperture. The desktop app runs on your Mac; your iPhone or iPad displays its window and sends remote input back. You need a reachable, awake Mac with Scrivener installed, the free Apperture Mac host, and the Apperture app on your iPhone or iPad.

Scrivener also has a native iOS app with its own project transfer and sync workflow. Apperture is useful when you want the project and compile tools already open in the Mac edition. Scrivener product information.
